About The Author R.C. DAS, Ph.D. (Physical Chemistry from Utkal University) and Ph.D. (Radiation Chemistry from Leeds University), during his more than 30 years of distinguished career as an academic and professional in industry, has held several prestigious positions. Among his important assignments, he has been Consulting Professor, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar; Vice Chancellor, Berhampur University; Chairman, Orissa State Pollution Control Board, Bhubaneswar; Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, University College of Engineering, Burla; and Seniors JSPS Fellow (Visiting Professor), University of Chiba, Japan. Besides his wide teaching and research experience, Professor Das has won several national and international awards and recognitions.
D.K. BEHERA, Ph.D. (Environmental Chemistry), is Senior Environmental Scientist with the State Pollution Control Board, Orissa. With 22 years of experience, he is actively involved in projects related to spatial environmental planning. His present assignments are in areas of waste management, industrial pollution control and environment planning. He is also a visiting faculty in M.Sc.
