Baby is a singer of the Bangladesh Television and the Bangladesh Radio from 1997. In 2013, Japan's International Broadcasting Organisation NHK (Bangla) broadcasted her interview and songs to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tagore's visit to Jupan. She has published three audio albums. She is a member of a Tokyo based Shinkyuku Art Association and works to promote friendship between the painters of Bangladesh and Japan. Her paintings were exhibited at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art, Act Art Complex, and Hiltopin Gallery in Tokyo several times from 2012 - 2015; and she was awarded for her work on Japanese garden. The Japan Times published her photographs several times that she shooted on beauty, peace and barmony. She has obtained her MA in Public Policy and Management, University of Melbourne, and BA (Hons) and MA in English Literature, University of Dhaka She has joined in the Bangladesh Civil Service in 2001 has and served at different ministries, field administration and training institutes. The author also has served at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo as first secretary. Presently she is working at the Ministry of Public Administration as deputy secretary. Previous publications: Bubbles of Psyche, a book of English poems, Academic Press and Publishers Limited (APPL), 2005. Hallucination, a dozen of Bangla short stories, Gatidhara Publishers. 2011. Baby Rani Karmakar was born in Dhaka Brought up in the past war Bangladesh, the author has undergone the social, political, economic, moral and psychological transition of the society, which her stories tried to reflect.
