ডা. এল.ডি. বিজেন্দ্র দাস

Dr. L D Vijendra Das has brilliant academic career in India and abroad. After his MSc. (Ag.) degree in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding, the author worked at the Central Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore and later moved to the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. He was deputed to Australia from 1973-78 for his PhD. degree and worked with late Professor Dr. N. Thurling at the Institute of Agriculture, the University of Western Australia on Australian Government fellowship. After successful completion of the degree he returned to India. During 1990 he became Professor of Genetics and Plant Breeding. During 1994 the author was invited by Germany and was awarded fellowship by the German Government for Postdoctorate research at the Institute of Grassland and Forage Research, Bundesallee, Braunschweig, Germany and after successfully completing it returned to India. In 1997 he was selected as Director of Publication in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The author was invited by Israel during 2000 to the “Sede Boquer” campus of Jacob Blaustein Institute for Desert Research. The author has published 104 research papers in Indian and foreign journals and participated in International/ National Seminars and received a number of awards. With 34 years of teaching and research experience, the author has written this book.
