A.K.M. Enayet Kabir was born on 4th January, 1952 at Narayanganj. He is the only son of Mrs. Mohsina Akbar, who is a social worker and a poet and wrote two books-- a book on poem entitled "Sritir Abarte" & a book on religion entitled "Muktir Anneshaye". She hails from the famous "khondoker family of Goaldi" in Vanga Thana of Faridpur. She is now 82 years old, and by the grace of Allah she performed hajj five times so far. Kabir's father, Mr. Ali Akbar Khan was born in village Gouripasha of Nolchiti Thana under Jhalakathi District. During East Pakistan period, he was the Head of Survey Division of Housing & settlement Dept. under Ministry of Housing. Out of four Sisters, three reside in U.K. and one sister, Maksuda Yasmin, who was the Vice Principal of Lalmatia Mohila College, Dhaka, resides in Florida, USA. He Passed Senior Cambridge Examination (GCE) in 1970 from St. Joseph's High School. HSC in 1972 from Notre Dame College, Dhaka and BSS (Hon's) in Public Administration from Dhaka University in 1976. After MSS in 1978, he went to USA for Higher Education. But, realizing futility of ornamental education at that time, he soon returned home and began carrier as an Executive in a multinational company, named Daewoo Corporation. After serving Multinational Company for more than 22 years (being at the top management), he left job to spend more time in writing in his personal library (Located at Sector #06, Uttara, Dhaka), which has rich collection of various books, magazines, journals, newspapers research materials etc. (the combined weight of which exceeds 40 10us sccupying a space area of 4000 sft.) He is a collector of stamps (60,000), FDCs (1000), coins (5,000), Telephone cards (3000), Key rings (2.000), matchboxes (1000) and many other interesting items, which he plans to display in a museum for motivation of our future generation. He is a nature-lover and interested in taking photos (he took more than 45,000 Photos since his school life). He likes driving and has travelled around the world in 44 countries. By the Grace of Almighty, he performed Hajj in 2009 with his mother, wife and youngest son. Very social and friendly, Mr. Kabir is involved in many socio-economic activities in the society for which he received many Awards, including "Shere-Bangla Memorial Trophy-2010" & "Mother Teresa Golden Trophy-2010" for his contribution in collecting materials for knowledge expansion; "Bangabandhu Memorial Award" for his collection of rare materials on Liberation War and Father of Nation (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman); and "Ananna Performance Award-2010" from the Chairman of Human Rights Commission, Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman; Greater Barisal Development Forum Award-2010 from Honourable Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, as the beloved son of Barisal; Ishwar Chandra Bidhya Sagor Gold Medal-2011 for spreading knowledge in society: Shaheed Freedom Fighters' Memorial Award-2011; Justice
