Writing a book on Stock Market Investment had been a cherished venture, which ultimately came true by the grace of the Almighty Allah. The powerful inspiration behind writing this book is the difficulties suffered by the investors in the stock market, particularly during the stock market crash of 2010-11 in Bangladesh. Many people lost their savings, even few lost part of their properties and faced a difficult life for many years. Some institutions also had the similar fate. Such consequences should be avoided through study of stock market behaviour, the art of investing and taking lessons from the past.
Stock market is a platform to invest in public limited companies which are listed in the stock exchange. Many people invest in the stock market to earn profit, at least more than that of fixed deposit in banks and other saving instruments. When the expected return is more, the risk also increases proportionately. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the stock market investors lose money. Only few disciplined and intelligent investors earn very high return out of the stock market.
The majority of the investors are not equipped with adequate knowledge, common sense and patience for investing in the stock market. Finance is a vast subject.To comprehend it clearly, some knowledge on accounting and statistics are required. Those investors having some knowledge on finance and accounting have the advantage of grasp ing the stock market analysis quickly. Those who are from different background would need some extra efforts and learning to prepare themselves as stock market investors. However, it is not difficult but needs interest and consistent efforts. This is equally applicable for all investing in the stock market.
Almost all investors are employed in some profession. So they don't have adequate time to have detailed study on the relevant subjects. This book is primarily written for the busy people and small investors. At least this book will act as a platform for further study for those who like to learn in more details. This book is basically written keeping in view the stock market scenario of Bangladesh. However, this would be helpful for any stock market investor around the globe, as the stock markets of different countries have significant similar characteristics.
