Preface: Since I am a columnist for the last four decades, whenever I felt something wrong around me just took the pen and papers, generally in the morning after I read the daily newspapers. The newspapers provide me many events out of which I chose my subject that I deal with every day. In fact, the newspapers do not create impacts on me in every day. But there are events published in newspapers that really compel me to take the pen and papers. It is out of this habit the present publication has been presented to the readers. All these articles have been written by me following the news of every day. I had picked up certain events for my articles when our leader Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia, both were interned in sub jail. I also wrote several articles on the caretaker government of 1/11. It seemed to me that the real target was Sheikh Hasina and Begum Zia was taken into prove that the government of General Moeen U Ahmed had non-partisan attitude for both the parties Awami League and BNP. But the underlying truth would reveal the opposite. Most probably Khaleda Zia was taken into prove that Sheikh Hasina was not the only target of the army. The army backed caretaker government of Fakruddin Ahmed had to stay for several months just to hold the election but remained for a longer period and wanted to prolong it further. was Sheikh Hasina who stood on the way. She launched a series of political programmes to prove that the people were determined to cast their votes through an election. In the election, Sheikh Hasina and her party got the thumping majority defeating the BNP-led alliance and formed the government. It's not very difficult to understand that there were lots of conspiracies during the army backed caretaker government, the aim of which was probably to wipe out the parties and their leaders with worst brutality. It did not happen since their international master did not approve the proposal to kill both the leaders. Their plan was to create political vacuum to pave the way for anti-liberation fundamentalist forces to rule the country. The army probably had dialogues with both leaders. What happened with Khaleda Zia! I don't know but Sheikh Hasina did turn down all the proposal of the army except holding of the general election in due date. The movement she did launch on the street did compel the army to abandon their evil design. And the election though late was held and the result was exclusively in favour of Sheikh Hasina who formed the government. We are fortunate that political stability is prevailing in the country. Now, the uncertainty of holding election is over. There is the Election Commission (EC) which holds the elections in due time. But BNP is now on the street and desperately us trying to create an anarchic situation in the country. But Sheikh Hasina is facing all odds and violent acts of opposition BNP and managing to stay in power.
