Every doctor needs to have good command on fundamentals of research methodology and biostatistics to get through examination and to make himself/herself capable to carry out research and write scientific paper for dissemination in biomedical journals. From the writer’s experience, he found that it is difficult to talk of either research methods or biostatistics in isolation of another. The holistic picture emerges only when they are put together in an integrated manner. Most of the available text books on biostatistics and research methodology are too scholarly and too intricate to make out the basic concepts as clearly as desired by a debutant doctor particularly before examination. So the writer’s objective was to write a short manual on research methodology and biostatistics encompassing the fundamentals within the purview of their contents and necessity as far as examination and research is concerned. This book has addressed the relevant issues looking at the core with clear explanation of concepts and techniques with considerable illustrative materials to enable the researchers in developing methodology for their research studies and to make them familiar with the art of using different research methods and techniques. Most of the illustrative examples have been drawn from real life interesting, educative, scenarios and actual research settings to make it more versatile and user’s friendly. So don’t be afraid of research methodology and biostatistics any more. This “Abc of Research Methodology and Biostatistics” introduces this challenging topic in a readable and enjoyable format that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject. In no time you’ll understand the subject and be able to evaluate critically and knowledgeably.
