Using a great number of patta-kabuliyats to exemplify the grant and transfer of land rights by various classes of landholders and appended various khatians to demonstrate how these persons, Emperor of India, Zamindars, Independent Talukdars, dependant Talukdars, other under-tenants, Raiyat, Korfa Raiyatas, Bargadars recorded their respective rights to the land. The survey process has been explained with the relevant and important survey rules for the readers to develop a footing in the study of the survey rules, which are crucial for understanding land laws.
