Among all his works so far, in my opinion Ma Novel is very rich and famous. At the very beginning of the novel, Rahman has given a great poetic simile by describing the value of mother.
Day is dark without sunlight, night is dark without moon, just as day and night of humans are darkened without mother. Zerina Zaman is thinking in this moments that life is dark without mother. It’s as the sun spreads light all over the world and makes the day beautiful, similarly the moon removes the darkness to make the night beautiful when it is awake, mother is like the sun and the moon that keeps her child in her arms for all the times and goes ahead with bright light. Rahman Shelley started writing his novel with the mentioned lines. His presentation style is very poetic. Just as night and day are dark without the moon and the sun, the whole human life is immobile without the mother. As we know in this small word 'Mother' is hidden an infinite and amazing power of merciless and selfless love. Who does not know about the mother's sacrifice for the child? A mother is the only one in this world who can risk her life for her child. But growing up many times we forget the selfless sacrifice of mother.
There is a Chinese myth. The story is like 'a lover said to test her boyfriend, I want to test your love! The boyfriend said, what test will be taken? I am ready for all exams.
