Public Health in Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (Paperback)

The common subject of all discussions on public health issues is to focus on promotion of population health and restoring it from happening or recurring diseases or injuries in contrast to clinical problems, which are typically concerned with restoring, maintaining, and improving an individual's health, particularly that of a diseased person. Clinical professionals primarily focus on diagnosing illness, treating diseases, promoting health, and relieving pain and distress in individual patients when they seek service.
Public health on the other hand, is obviously seen from a very different perspectives. Public health helps detect population health issues as early as possible (mostly before manifestation or chance of happening of diseases or health problems) and responds appropriately to avoid the development of unwelcome health outcomes. It seeks not only to take care of the health of the whole community by giving priority only on protection and prevention of diseases, but it also focuses on promotion of population health.
Public health accomplishes its overall task through human resource development, administering services, implementing educational programs, recommending policies, developing infrastructure, procuring goods and conducting research.
