Does globalization cause cultural transformation among the youth? This has been an overriding research question addressed in this book by a fusion of young and established scholars from Bangladesh. Students from higher education institutions — both public and private — come under the spotlight of individual chapters. Three major sub-themes emerged from the research findings and discussions of 11 chapters which include higher education and pedagogy; social media’s impact; and youth aspirations and perceptions. The findings and discussions reveal the multiplexity of dimensions that globalization has and the impact of these on the youth. A remarkable feature of the volume is the ‘nearness’ and the ‘lived-in’ experiences of the authors and the editors, with the issues under exploration. Their rootedness in the physical and cognitive space adds value to the reading of the issues.
