The main objective of writing this book was to have an introductory text for the students of electrical sciences, who would later take up courses like Transmission Lines, Analog and Digital Communications, etc. The text discusses the basic principles and laws of electromagnetics involved in electrostatics, steady magnetic fields and time-varying magnetic fields extensively and continues the discussion with the uniform plane waves. An introductory chapter on vector algebra is included, keeping in mind the importance of understanding the subject qualitatively. The book is developed in such a manner that even a novice in the subject can easily assimilate the subject contents; the derivation of theorems are simplified and the explanations are complete. Emphasis is given on clarity without diluting the rigor of the concepts, which are fortified with examples and illustrations. Super drill problems are added to show the real-time concepts. Chapter summery is given for a quick review and exercise problems with answers for self-test.
