This book is an outcome of the dissertation entitled as ‘Public Safety and Security through Private Security Service: The Bangladesh Perspective’ and was submitted to Jahangirnagar University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. The book consists of nine chapters including theoretical framework, methodology and recommendations. At the backdrop of socio-economic circumstances, the private security service seems to have gained much importance already, and with increasing demand for it, the sector has turned into a fast-growing one in Bangladesh. Private security management, as a concept, is not much old to our public perceptions. In the early 80s, only a few private security companies, counting about five to seven, set out this business journey; and subsequently the accompaniment along the way exceeded 500 as of now. As a matter of fact, this specific business sector was neither brought within the scope of any research, nor was the area put under any exploratory study. New researchers will be able to critically analyze this work and express their ideas by publishing new books. Mohammed Belayet Hossain PhD reiterate that in Bangladesh, the private security services business has a lot of promises. This book contains some recommendations for the development of the private security service sector in Bangladesh.
