Parisa is a wonderful budding talent, and already a published author. Her first collection was marked by fancy and flight, and now followed up by a new tale that’s more ambitious in narrative scope and thematic salience. She writes with natural grace, displays charming inventions and an ability to keep the story moving and engaging.
This particular story deals with issues that are of great relevance to most children - bullying, friendship, growth and belonging. Parisa’s approach to these serious issues is light-hearted, but her solutions are anything but slight. The story is laced with a kind of wisdom that’s beyond her age, or ageless - emphasizing forgiveness over more negative reactions. I think most children will find this story utterly amusing and consoling, and also inspiring that it’s from and author who is very much their peer.
