World Day for Water Management of International River Basins and Environmental Challenges

Proceedings of a seminar of management of international river basins and environmental challenges organized by Bangladesh National Committee of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) in cooperation with local Government Engineering Department and swedish international Development Agency of the occasion of World Day for water, 22 March 1994, Dhaka.

The Seminar was held to observe the Day which has been declared as 'World Day for Water' to be celebrated globally each year as per resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at its 47th Session. The General Assembly invited States to devote the Day, as appropriate in the national context to concrete activities such as through organization of conferences, seminars and expositions related to the conservation and the development of water resources and the implementation of the recommendations of Agenda 21 of the 'Earth Summit' held at Rio in June, 1992.
