Summary Of The Book In his book, In Search Of Oneness: The Bhagavad Gita And The Quran Through Sufi Eyes, Moosa Raza, who is a devout Muslim, details his journey towards oneness through the exploration of various religious texts. He met many learned men from various religious backgrounds. His search only led to him realizing that all religious texts expound on the same concepts. He learnt that to call upon God through meditation is called sadhana in Hinduism and dhikr in Islam. He also realized that the path to reaching God also seemed the same in all religions. This path can be carved through service to the poor and other philanthropic actions. Raza, in his search, came across the Bhagavad Gita, the most revered text of Hinduism, and found the concept of surrendering material wealth and providing for the needy, very similar to concepts propounded by the Quran.
Raza, in In Search Of Oneness: The Bhagavad Gita And The Quran Through Sufi Eyes, observes that there were many men who practiced these concepts in their daily life. His own teacher always felt that God was with him, even during his ailing days. One of his friends helped the homeless, believing that Allah would provide for everyone.
All through the book, Raza speaks about his experiences in a narrative which flows freely and guides other seekers towards the knowledge that he has acquired about spirituality and the common goal of every religion. Various religions, though different in name and practices, ultimately have the same goals. This book was first published by Penguin Ananda in 2012. In Search Of Oneness: The Bhagavad Gita And The Quran Through Sufi Eyes, is about 250 pages long and is available in paperback.
