About the Author Produl Hazarika is Ex-Professor and Head Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He has more than 27 years of experience in clinical practice and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching With over 80 publications in national and international medical journals he is one of the most sought-after speakers in various conferences live surgery workshops and medical education programmes in India and abroad. He was selected as an international guest scholar by the American College of Surgeons in l986 He has travelled worldwide to countries including the USA UK Australia Malaysia Switzerland and Mauritius. He has designed ‘HRA voice prosthesis‘ for alaryngeal patients. He was the first surgeon to introduce Nucleus 22 channel cochlear implant in India in l985. He also popularized the skull base surgery in early 90s in India.
Dipak Ranjan Nayak Fellow is currently Professor and Head Department of ENT and Head Br Neck Surgery Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He has more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.He has attended various conferences live surgery demonstrations and continuing medical education workshops in the country as faculty. He has travelled to the USA to carry out a proiect on ‘Recent trends in head and neck skull base surgery‘ at the University ot Illinois Chicago. under ICRETT Fellowship. He was a visiting professor at John Hopkins University Baltimore USA in l998 and also visited Royal Infirmary Hospital University of Leicester UK in 2004.
Rohit Singh is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT at Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He is actively involved in clinical teaching and research.He was awarded AOI Gold Medal for the best outgoing postgraduate student in 2005. He was V Lconferred with Good Teacher Award in 2006-07 for excellence in undergraduate teaching by Manipal University. He was also awarded Sir Ratan Tata Scholar Travel grant for a Fellowship with Prot Heinz Richard Stammberger Graz Austria in August 2008.
