This is perhaps the first book on Labor and Industrial Laws of Bangladesh considering labor issues as well as Islamic insights related to those matters. This book encompasses a wide range of subject matter in relation to labor standards, welfare as well as the industrial and working environment. It arranges every chapter in a simple and easily understandable manner by incorporating headings and sub-headings with chronology and coherence of the theme while bearing in mind the needs of the students, as labor law is one of the core courses of law and social work department at the undergraduate or postgraduate level of all universities in Bangladesh. Therefore, students, researchers, law practitioners, and labor administrators may be able to learn essential knowledge from the book, while lessons from Islamic perspectives will serveas an additional opportunity. The aim of this book is to provide knowledge about labor issues in accordance with traditional and Islamic precepts. Dr. Mir Nazmul karim was born in Dhaka in the year 1946. He went to Department of Commerce of Dhaka University and earned his Honors and Masters Degree in commerce in 1967 and 1968 respectively. Then he started his teaching career as Lecturers in Industrial Management and Industrial Law. Department of Humanities, East Pakistan University of Engineering & Technology in the year 1969 Then in 1974-75, he was awarded as Research Fellowship in the Department of Industrial Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology The Netherlands for one year. Then He competed his LLB Degree from University of Dhaka in 1976 and became member of the Bangladeshi Bar Council in the same year Then he went on to complete his Ph.D. Degree in Accounting from also department of Accounting, University of Dhaka in 1994 He was then promoted to the rank of Associate professor. He was also an active member of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Economic Association, International Association of accounting education and research (USA) He also served as external examiner of 3 Ph. D/ Dissertation of two Indian Universities e. g. University of Alagappa and Mysore University. During 2007-8, he completed his tenure as Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Business Management (IOBM), Aorangi Creek, Karachi, Pakistan. He has authored as much as 50 publications to his credit which were published in local and International Journal repute.
