Gross anatomy is the pictorial presentation of the human body, both in theory and in practical dissections. This becomes more essential during the study of the regional description of the upper and the lower limbs, which include bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and their tendons, blood vessels, lymphatics and nerves. For that purpose, in the fifth edition different shades of computer based colours are introduced in most of the existing black and white, and coloured diagrams including Surface Anatomy to specify the different structures, under the direct supervision of the author. This makes the book more acceptable and useful to the students at the beginning of their academic career, and will create visual impact about the relative disposition of the structures along with structure-function corelations. All chapters are thoroughly revised and modified, when necessary, with incorporation of updated information on various topics Incidentally, a chapter is introduced in principles of joints, their classifications and specially the kinesiology. The author is confident that this book will cover all aspects of anatomy of the upper and lower limbs with clinical applications and the readers will develop interest after an in-depth study of every chapter of the present edition.
