Preface To bring confidence in writing of any language is arduous and time consuming as different grammatical rules need to be taken into consideration while writing. Besides, one has to generate idea that gives clear and meaningful message. That means accuracy on writing depends on application of many things together. A person who knows grammatical rules well cannot claim that he/she has good confidence in writing for he/she may be poor in idea generation. On the other hand, a person who is good at idea generation but cannot apply grammatical rules while writing is not proficient in writing as well. To have good command on writing, we basically need two things. One is grammatical knowledge and application of the same while writing. The other is idea generating and presenting the same in a good form. The use of appropriate words is also important. Many of us get scared whenever we hear the name of grammar. In my opinion, the main reason of this fear is complex presentation. If presentation is simple, learners can easily understand different grammatical rules. In this book named How to Learn Written English, we tried to present grammatical structure simply and easily. The book has been designed based on lessons, and as many as thirty lessons are there in this book. These lessons discuss grammatical rules in a planned and systematic way. The most important characteristic of this book is illustration. Dozens of examples have been put on a particular subject for thorough understanding of the particular topic. This book also contains, word formation, idioms and phrases, translations (from English to Bangla and Bangla to English), bank job letters, official letters, paragraphs and essays. In the sixth edition of the book we have added reading comprehensions and long essays. Topics on Bank Job writing have largely been covered in this edition. We do believe, this book assists readers to have strong command on grammar, position of words and idea generation while writing in a sprcified period of time. The efforts we have employed while writing this book will be fruitful if readers are benefited from this book. Lastly, I am grateful to those who helped me in preparing this book with utmost care. I do believe that the scope for improvement is always there. I'll be looking forward to receiving suggestions for further enriching the quality of the book.
