Dr. Md. Amran Hossain is a distinguished faculty member of Political Science at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Amran completed his BSS (Honors) and MSS degrees in Political Science from the University of Dhaka in 1989 and 1990 respectively. He achieved first class with first position in both the degrees. He also did an M. Phil on ‘Public Administration and Organization Theory’ at the University of Bergen, Norway under NORAD Fellowship in 2000. In 2007, he was awarded with PhD in Politics at the University of Sheffield, UK. Dr. Amran was invited by the US Department of State under IVP program on occasion of first anniversary of the 9/11 in 2002. In this prestigious delegation, he intensely contributed to various bi-lateral issues to state and politics between Bangladesh and USA. He also availed a research fellowship awarded by the European Union (EU) through EMMA - West in Portugal and Spain in 2011. Dr Amran is the author of seven books which covered a wide range of social science research methods and Bangladesh politics and also contributed over a number of research articles. He visited more than 20 states around the world for academic research.
